I'm in major need of some help here. Have tried everything without success on my 2007 Expedition SSV.
Symptom - Front and rear wipers both active but washer fluid pump does not run.
I have checked power at the pump and it is not getting power at all. I already bought a new pump thinking that would for sure be the issue and obviously it does nothing. The fuses are powered and since the wipers all run, I cannot imagine that is the issue.
This may be coincidental, but very recently I added a 3rd row seat to the SSV. To power the 3rd row, I tied into the cargo power outlet. I cannot remember if the washer pump worked after I did this but I cannot see how it could be related.
I am in desperate need of some help here as the snow/slush around here is making the vehicle undriveable in this condition.
Yes, I do have a multifunction switch with integrated turn signals, wipers, high beams, etc.
When I push the front wiper wash function, the wiper runs but no pump power.
When I twist the rear wiper wash function, the wiper runs but no pump power.
I don't have the electrical diagram and do not quite understand how the multifunction switch works. I figured that since the wiper was running, it ruled out the switch. Does the above sound like the switch could be the issue?
Okay, this help! Now I know why I couldn't find any relays, they are built into the motors themselves.
So I'm not that great at electrical troubleshooting. I checked the ground from front and rear motors and they look good. Finding the open circuit sounds unpleasant.
Both front and rear wipers run when wash function is selected so I'm not thinking it is the multifunction switch.
The front and rear motor connectors all look good, no visible damage or corrosion.
Ideas on where to start if I were to replace the motor - anyone seen a motor go bad and run but not allow the wash relay to click in?

Okay, so this is where I am at for future reference.
I actually did have power to the wash pump but only when activating the front wash cycle (not the rear). Must be an issue with the ground circuit running to the rear.
So I took the wire from the wash pump that runs to the rear and grounded it. Now i have wash on the front, not on the rear. Will live like this for now until the weather gets nicer.
Thanks to alloro’s diagram, looks like the washer pump should spin in one direction when Calling for front washer and in the other direction when calling for the rear washer.
Disconnect the C3157 connector at the washer pump. When you turn on the front washer the BL-WH wire connector pin should have power AND the GY-OG wire connector pin should provide the ground.
When you turn on the rear washer the opposite should occur, the BL-WH wire should provide a ground while the GY-OG wire should have power.

That is correct, it's a polarity reversing circuit similar to some power window and lock circuits. Which is why power at the pump has to be tested across both motor leads and not to ground.
