Sorry for being a troll it was not my intention. I was in over my head. Because the motor is a 428.and I was scared and now the engine guy took my money and said too bad.so now I have no choice but to let the motor get full of dirt and turn to rust .I can't physical y do the work .at least I still have a decent truck that maybe someday I can afford a decent running motor and not a junk yard piece of junk .my sincere apologies. And yes I know I'm a pita I get ahead of myself sometimes.please help again because I don't know what to do about this situation.

Wow, glad I never fell into that morass. Still doesn't explain his comments about letting the motor fill with dirt and rust, but I don't think I want to know.

 

I can't fix it so what am I supposed to do I can't cover up the motor right now it is getting any dirt that blows around. And the cylinders are getting very rusty.so is the crankshaft. Besides that 85 e150.doesn't believe anything that I say anywhay but I dont lie.my income is 250 per month. That doesn't allow much money to fix a plain 428.and yes it is a 67 428 .in a 72 f250 camper special. That is as simple as I can explain the situation. Believe who you want. The cheapest price that I can have the 428 put back together in my area is 6000.00 so much having a 428.I like my 72 camperspecial I got it for 1000.00.but I'm no looking forward to spending 6000.00 to make it run .and yes I asked too many questions too many times. But I didn't want to make a mistake and ruin the 428 .but now I don't have a choice. Havea good day. Your trying to be a friendly pita.besides that it is just a plain 428 nothing special. Besides that 85 e150.must be rich and have access to more help than I have.I live 25 miles from any cheap help.

Get a couple of tubes of bearing grease and coat everything with grease.
Cover everything with large thick industrial garbage bags.
That should slow down the rust.
Sell what you have and use the money to find a good running 360/390.
A good fe 428 block and crank will have some value

 

Hello good suggestions but this is mohavecounty. As for putting in a 360 or 390 they don't exist in my search area. A 360 would really kill the value. Of my 72 camperspecial. Also to have the 428 pulled it would cost 2000.00i can't help the fact that mohavecounty is a very expsenive place tolive. If my 72 was a plain f250 I wouldn't care.I would put in a 350 chevy oops a foreskin.that is why I live in a really cheap rv park .and I bought a really cheap fall apart travel trailer so we would have at least some way to have protection from the weather. It would be nice if it was handicapped accesable.but it's not. My wife who is in a wheelchair doesn't like this trailer but we have no other choice. And I know that 85 e150 will say that I can't prove that fact but I don't lie.her name is wendy. We have been married for 41 years. And I hope another 41years.

As for selling the 428 I would' have to use PayPal. I don't want my financial information being made public. That is also the reason why I chose chloride arizona and we like our privacy.and I don't like giving out our private information but 85e150 made it personal. And if you make the mistake of coming after me in person there are many mineshafts.I will find you one .have a good day.

Ird56 look at S and J engines. you can get a rebuilt 390 long block with an RV cam for under $2000 and I think they have an 8 year warranty.

 

Is that a 390 with the torque and horse power of a 2.3 pinto engine. With the same low compression. Just a question.

 

I just need my 428 put back together.ihave new parts.I just need my motorput back together. My block is fine.and so is the bottom end..ihave new heads timing g set fuel pump old head.bolts. intake carb.gaskets. just not 2000.00.to have it put back together. That is as simple as I can explain. Have a nice day.
