As many have posted , issues with the passenger side running board, first it would go up and down when it wasn't supposed to , going up when it should be down , then it stopped entirely,. So , I determined the motor was definitely bad,( truck has 139000 miles and 9 years old) but was concerned about something more since this started with the board going up and down when it was not supposed to , for example , open the door the board went down before you could step on it it would go back, other times it would go down with the front door open but no action if you opened or close the back door .So , long story short , I replaced the motor and hinge assembly , ordered it together that way , was about $180, figured I would save myself some grief . Removed and replaced the motor and hinge , not too bad, took about an hour , I could see no other problem with any of the other hinges , lubed everything , and all worked great for about 3 days ,now the board goes down fine, but when you close the door it goes up and closes , then goes right back down , as though it senses an obstruction,any Ideas on a way to calibrate the sensor or where the sensor is or a way to circumvent the sensor from operating .One You tube video recommended a spring from the board to the frame to pull it back up , not sure which direction to go Wifey getting upset.
