Lower octane while towing in cold weather.
This trip was a little late and much cooler and a bit rainy at times. I was able to use 87 for most of the trip and 89 only for a few hills. I don't think I even needed the 89 at all. I hot weather I really need the 92.
I have a 94 F250 460 4x4 4.10 E4OD Supercab long bed and tow an 8,000# trailer.
Just thought I would make this observation. I know that cooler temps and rain help lower octane requirements. Just thought I would comment on this unscientific validation. Makes a difference when regular is $1.80+ in the boonies.
