Is there any way of having locks unlock when truck is running and put in park this is a real pain in the rear end . Stop and go to access box tail gate locked walk back to drivers door hit unlock button . I know just unlock them when you go to get out but I'm a human male and do not remember all the time . Truck is a 2019 xlt
Not one that works with the truck still running. Autounlock only works when you turn the truck off I believe.
I didn't want my truck locking or unlocking on it's own so I disabled both from then cluster menu under settings, advanced settings, vehicle, locks.
You can also disable the tailgate lock individually if you open the tailgate panel (all those torx head screws)
and disconnected the lock actuator.
No problem. I agree that the autounlock should work with the truck still running and placed in park - I don't know of a way to modify it to do that however.
It took me about a year to train myself to tap the unlock button when I exit the truck while it's running. This is called "re-program the operator". Very low tech, but it works.
Out here in the country having the tailgate stolen isn't a big issue, while installing the tailgate protector I unplugged the actuator.
Just have to remember to unlock the passenger door.
