I have a 2015 f150 xlt eco. I went to borrow my fathers horse trailer this last Saturday. Once I hooked up and drove for about 5 minutes all of sudden my Hvac and radio were not working (radio was working off steering wheel) and front air bag light was on. I have pulled multiple 4 prong trailers, but this trailer was the first 7 prong trailer I have hooked up too. I got home and checked fuses they were good. I then begin to check every fuse on both boxes all was fine. I decided to unhook battery and let sit for 20 minutes. Once I reconnected battery and turned truck on I had even more issues along with the ones before. The front windows did not work, door locks didn’t work, and key fob quit working. I drove the truck to work and the tire pressure monitor light came on flashing. I tested the battery and alternator with a multi meter all checked out battery was at 12.6V and 14.3 V on. I took truck to known mechanic to check failure codes to modules to start digging into this. Was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation.
I’ve never had that issue. You definitely checked some good places to find the issue.
However, I wouldn’t be satisfied until I did an actual load test on the battery.
Autozone used to offer them for free, I suspect they still do.
If the batter checks out with the load test and the posts are all clean and tight...I’d start checking grounds.
Smarter people will probably come along and offer more ideas.
Hi Codyfill and welcome and thanks for choosing FTE!
If that’s the OEM battery, I would say it’s close to death. The issues you described are not unusual when batteries begin to fail on a Ford. My OEM battery only lasted 24 months. There have been many complaints of spotty quality on Motorcraft OEM and replacement batteries. Source a battery made by East Penn or Deka.

Could be the Smart Junction Box. I guess this generation of truck is getting old enough to see a problem like that. I can’t recall seeing anyone posting an SJB issue yet in this forum.
When my battery failed, the charge still showed marginal, just wouldn’t handle any load.

This is fairly common. Someone reads the unladen voltage as good, but the battery fails upon load testing (significant drop in voltage with a load).
That is why I always recommend a load test when trying to troubleshoot something like this.
I have no idea what the smart junction box does, but at least you guys do!
