Gentleman I have just bought a 73 F100 Short Bed Styleside Ranger straight 6 12 Volt 3 in the floor no air just heat no power steering or brakes Am Radio. My plan is to fix it up and sale it. Looking over it I have found not a lot of problems. The first thing I noticed was that it had not marker lights or wiring but the holes are there but the truck came without them. I can get the marker lights that's not problem. I can make and install the circuit. I know it would connect to the 20 Amp fuse. I just need to know one thing, what gauge wire do I need to use. I have been told to use 18 or 16 and I have been told to use 14. What do you gentlemen say. Or should I say, what gauge wire did Ford use.

Reason: Left out being told that I could also use 18 gauge as well.
Even with the old incandescent lights, I bet Ford did not use larger than 16ga to feed the lights. Maybe 14ga up to a point, then 16ga after splitting? Not sure.
Maybe someone here has one of those diagrams that actually shows the gauge, but mine do not.
If you had an F250 you would probably find a partial harness under the dash even if the optional cab lights were not ordered. But being an F100 the harness might not have included that section. All the cabs are the same of course, but thinking they may have saved a little money by not including that.
But if you crawl around behind the instrument panel and find some unused solid Brown wires, that might be them. You can check that with a volt-meter and turning the light switch on.
Good luck. Sorry I did not have a direct answer for you about the gauge.
