Locking gas cap
Purchased a locking gas cap from local auto parts store and found it does not fit. Checked online Ford catalog sources, DC/Carolina and the only supplier I found is LMC, and I am not a particular fan of LMC parts; having said that, LMC is asking $75 
, I am interested if any member can refer me to a source for a decent cap?

Christmas, I saw the cap on DC website which indicates they are out of stock, called and spoke with Mike at their parts counter and he did not know when they would be in stock. I did come across the same cap thru Melvin's classic Ford parts, out of Georgia, not familiar with them but it does not matter cuz just spoke with their parts department and they do not have them, their search found the manufacturer does not have them in stock either so it appears, at this time, Mac's may be the only option but I will continue to search, the quality of Mac's cap appears questionable?

Bob Drake has the same cap on their website, spoke with them and they do not have them in stock and suggested I call them in 2-3 months?

Not sure may have found a source but the packaging has 'Bob Drake' on the box, the part # is same as other online part supplier's, not clear if same and/or if BD is the supplier, looking at the item photo the quality of the locking mechanism appears questionable. I ordered 1 and may order ordered another due to pay pal glitch if the quality is okay intended to purchase another?

Great, still uncertain whether I purchased 1 or 2 of the caps, either way, I can use both. Thank you for the info regarding bending the tabs for a more efficient seal.

Yep, that's the correct Ford (Autolite/Motorcraft) replacement part number for the ventilated locking gas cap. Also known as FC-91 (FC for Fuel Cap)

Good lol because I have bought two of that part number at a swap meet one time. Brand new in the box.
