Front wheel bearings

A bit of a groan while turning right, so will be replacing wheel bearings, races, and seals this weekend (thanks, Rock Auto).

Any tricks or tips for removal/install of races?

There's usually a wide spot or whatever in the casting to allow clearance or gain purchase to use a punch to drive them out from the back side, something like that.

Suggest you verify the wheel bearings are actually bad prior to replacing parts. Cleaning, purging old grease and replacement thereof is always a good idea if a noise is detected.

Not to insult you but don’t just get a brass drift and hammer and start whaling on the races. Drive them out a little on one side then a little on the opposite side i e start at 12 o’clock then go to 6 o’clock.
It’s best to use a race driver for installing the races and seals but if your carful you can install them with a brass drift and hammer in the same manner.

A socket of the right size will work, or the old race, the trick is to get the new one started without being cocked. Being mindful to be safe and wear safety goggles to avoid chips, all the usual standard disclaimers apply. Void where prohibited. No user serviceable parts inside.
