Help, coolant leak

So I have the dreaded coolant leak in my 2012 f150 5.0. Ordered the new o rings and tried to install them. Can't for the life of me get the connection to go all the way on to the plastic 3way piece. The clip wont catch as it is not all the way together.
How hard should it be to get that together with a new o ring? Thinking they may have sent the wrong o ring.

I merged these two threads together and edited the name so as not to be confused with another " Help" thread that's currently open.

Looked up the PN and the o rings are correct. The trouble I have is when I put the new O ring in I can't get the connector back together. Put the old back and clicks right into place.

Are you lubing the new O ring with a bit of antifreeze?

Actually used a new o ring from the dealer and a little silicone lube. Went right together. Was the right P/N but wrong o-ring. Been a week and working well so far.
Thanks
Bill

I'm looking for my coolant leak too. All the usual symptoms: leaks only when cool in the driveway, low coolant level, etc. Still searching for the actual leak but went ahead and ordered an o-ring kit from ebay and the Pegsus Racing kit here -> https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/gr...pID=SHKFORD001 (good pics here -> https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post19099102)

Have not had the leak yet with my 2013 5.0 but recognize how it will probably happen. Ordered a new Motorcraft upper hose complete with the fittings in place for about $50. I have it when I need it and those radiator hoses need to be replaced at some point anyway. Just a suggestion.

I thought about that but chose something different. I can't see going back with the same parts when they're known to fail.

I finally got to do these today. The thread pictures I linked to are spot on, kudos to those guys. My truck uses orange coolant, I used DexCool.
