FS-10 compressor mounting options

Does anybody know if the FS-10 compressor is multi-positional? I have a custom application with little hood clearance and a top connected compressor. I would like to know if it is possible to rotate the compressor 1/4 turn in it's mounts, effectively making it side-connected version instead. I don't think it possible to "clock" the rear case as there are off-center locating pins that keep both case halves and internals in original alignment. But looking at videos and exploded pictorials, I don't see anything that would prohibit rotating the whole thing. To my knowledge, these are usually mounted with attaching bolts horizontal, though I have seen Mustang mounts that appear to be at an incline of more than 45 deg. There is no oil sump, but I want to be sure that I don't submerge an internal intake somewhere and pump all of the oil out into the system. I've contacted local dealer (huh?) and Ford Motors directly and can't find anyone who knows anything more than part numbers. Anybody had any experiences out there? Or have knowledge of applications with vertical attaching bolts?
