Dana 60 question

My '76 high-boy has a Dana 60 rear w/4.10 gears. I want to try 3.50s in it. Do I have to change carriers or can I just swap gears?

Gears,

You should be able to get away with the carrier that you have. I just switch from 3.54s to 4.10 with out a problem. Just remember if its 4x4 your going to have to switch the front gear two.

Yeah, I know I gotta change the carrier in the front. It's a 44HD but I have a carrier for 3.50s to go in it. I just didn't wanna have to buy one for the back. I'm swapping gears just to see how the truck runs. I may be swapping right back or I may have to find something between 4.10s and 3.50s.
