Wondering if there has been any word on the next generation of the F150. I know they usually do one every 5 years which would would have been for the 2020 model year but guess that didn’t happen. Tried doing a search but didn’t come back with anything. Any substantial rumors on this yet. Tks. Presently have a ‘15 Lariat and getting a little itchy.

This spy shot confirms we will get front sensors instead having to get the 360 camera. My wife is barely 5 feet and front sensors will really help her when she drives.

Tks guys for the info. Always anxious to see what the next big change years bring. Really like my ‘15 and the Ruby Red still gets tons of compliments but I’ll probably be ready in a year to renew!!
Last fall while picking a stranded friend of mine up near the Romeo, Michigan Ford Proving Grounds I saw two zebra-camo covered F-Series trucks driving around that looked like the spy shot above. One looked to be a supercab length and the other a crew. Hard to tell because they were ahead of me on M-53 (Van Dyke Road). I could only see when they were ahead of me and turned with the curves in the road and when I caught up to them.

Amazing how those zebra skins hide things. But I guess that’s what they’re designed to do. Bottom line, guess we’ll just have to wait it out.
My guess is the cab and frame will remain the same. It will like be an evolution rather than a revolution. For instance, My opinion is that the ‘80-‘96 models should be the same generation as should the ‘04-‘14s.
My guess is new front sheet metal, maybe new bedsides and/or tailgate and taillights. Perhaps some minor powertrain changes. Maybe the electric model will debut, but we’ll see. I would also guess that a Tremor or similar F150 will emerge to take on the GM Trail Boss.
Maybe some interior updates, I’m just speculating, so don’t hold me to any if this.
Don't they seem to do body/sheetmetal changes and powertrain changes somewhat off-cycle from each other? The body/chassis changes for the 2015 year were big compared to the ones up to 2014. Be interesting to see what's in store. I'm always excited for the improvements.
The only generation in the last few decades that didn’t evolve was the ‘97-‘03. It was a radical departure from the previous gen, sharing nothing at all with previous trucks. They were great trucks in my opinion, I still see a lot of them on the road. Kinda odd looking, but that could have been dealt with by evolving it.
Enter the ‘04 models, not 100% clean sheet but pretty close. New frames, suspension design and bodies. The 4.6 and transmissions carried over. The infamous 5.4 3V debuted.
