I was eating breakfast at home, when i was 8. i dont remember alot from when i was that young, but i can tell you everything i saw that day and where i was. Saw the 2nd plane hit on TV before school. I remember my mom crying, and calling my dad at work. We had the TV on in class to watch it in school, and saw both towers come down...
I was working in my shop that morning, a guy stopped by and told me a plane had just hit the north tower and I turned on the tv just in time to see the second plane hit the south tower. Watched both towers come down. I remember feeling lost and sad. It is a day I will never forget.
i was hauling my last load home at the end of the day when i finally turned on the radio and nothing but news on all the stations and heard what happened(no one around where i was working that day.).i couldn't believe it.i remember how sick and awestruck when seeing those images on the tv for the first time that evening.
I was in bed asleep. My sergeant called and woke me up saying that the country had been attacked and no one really knew what was going to happen next so I needed to get up and come to work. I spent the rest of the day at the local airport, not that anyone was gonna attack a little airport in London, KY but everyone was confused and didn't really know what to do. A horrible day that I will never forget! My prayers are still with those that lost their lives that terrible day as well as their families. Godspeed to the brave men and women who have lost their lives and the ones that still continue to serve in the war on terror since that day!
I
was 9 and i woke up to my mom telling me a plane had just hit the trade centers (I had to idea what they were). Then i saw the second plane hit. I could not even begin to understand the scale of what was going on. I was just awestruck. Watched the news for three days.
I was coming in from recess in 4th grade. That day I decided I was going to try and help find the men responsible. So when I turned 17 I joined the army national guard. I dont regret it at all.
I was at work when some of the guys started yelling that a plane had hit one of the towers. We were all listening to the radio when the second one hit. We had a guy from Turkey (a muslim) that worked with us. He started to cry and was saying in broken english "The fools the fools what have they done?!!!!" He was a great guy but ended up quitting due to the flack that some guys gave him. To this day (when 9/11 comes on a workday) I write "never forget" at the top of my time sheet. Can you blieve that the simpleton that does the data entry at the offices has asked what she is not supposed to forget?! Also, it is hard to think it could happen but I know that the liberal idiot teachers where my kids are tell them that we should "forgive and forget" what was done!! I tell my kids that If they ever even think about it I will never forget or forgive them.
Happened in my neck of the US I would say. A guy I knew worked on the 102nd floor of the south tower. My dad spoke to him while he was in the tower, and then we saw it collapse on TV....
Joe was his name, he was a member in my church and helped out a lot on sunday mornings, it was a very personal experience for my family. Another member of my church who was a FF was in the bottom floor of the tower when the building collapsed, he jumped right and 12 other FF's jumped left. All of those who jumped left died and he lived with minor injuries. My brother's boss was on the 89th floor when the plane hit, 11 people made it out alive on that floor, he was one of them. I know a lot of other people who were in the crowds running from the dust cloud. I have heard so many horrific stories from my friends, while they ran, they saw bodies lying around and body parts just laying there in the streets.
Yes, 911, I shall never forget and it angers me when people say that Islam is a peaceful religion. They hate our guts and anyone who thinks otherwise is on something.
I was in the 4th grade in spanish class. heard all the older grades that were watchin tv for a social studies class running down the halls sayin the WTC was hit. I got home just in time to see the clip of the tower falling and the man jumping from the top. Most parents didnt let their kids watcg the news but mine let me watch it all. Im at a military college now and many buddies are serving or going to serve in the coming years ad we feel the attacks effect to this day. We partcipate in vigil tours(extremly slow marching in front of the US flag) the entire day and at 2200 we play echo TAPS to remember the fallen. Its one thing that sends me to tears and even the strongest guys on campus cry during it. Thanks to anybody who serves in any branch or FF or First responders. Yall arnt forgotten.
