Question for those w/headers

What type of gaskets did yall use?I am looking for some type of dead soft aluminum, or a durable gasket that wont burn out.
I guess i will be a guina pig, meaning i bought a set of those headers on e-bay and want to install a good gaskets if it doesnt come with some.It comes w/gaskets, but they look to be of the garden variety.

I bought those headers off e-bay also. They seem to be a good quality header. I just hope the fit is good.

Yes I received them last week on Thursday, the flange is 1/2in thick, the welds are clean, overall the quality is good. I'm hoping to install them this weekend.

The gaskets are real cheap almost paper type. I'm gonna try and find some better gaskets. I'll let you know what I find.

Hey Daryl,

The gaskets that came with my Borla Headers were a rubber coated metal. They seemed a little light weight to me, but seem to be sealing well.

You can allways add some high temp silicone to them to make them work better.
Also a good quality gasket material can be used to make one. Put a thin cardboard or copper on the back and tap lightly with a hammer and it will make a nice template.
Every stock gasket I ever used had to be trimmed up some to fit the port perfectly.

SCE is gonna send me 2.5 gaskets, i will have a 1pc gasket on 4 cyls, and will have to cut a single pc for the last cyl.A gasket is not needed between cyls so that should work.

Hey Mark i thought you died or something, working?
Hey Daimon, saw you were on @ 0100 hrs last night, working?
Im in Ship Shoal 182 for Apache.

I also bought the headers off of e-bay and they don't fit very well. I had to drill out each hole one step bigger because it didn't line up very well with the studs.
And the stock ford gaskets work very well. They are metal gaskets that don't leak and don't blow out. No need to buy some expensive aftermarket ones

V10KLZZ71S no I just don't sleep much. 3 or 4 hours a day, wish I could sleep more but just can't.

We are pretty slow right now I am hoping to have off the rest of the month because on the 23rd I think I am going your way for the Steel Pony bike show if I am off. But you know how that goes the morning that I am ready to go the call will come in. LOL
