I ended up getting the frame that was more local to me. Unfortunately, I had to buy not only the frame, but the cab, doors, and hood that were on it. If anyone needs a ‘53-‘55 cab, doors, or hood let me know.
I’m currently replacing the firewall and cowls in my truck.
Tell us where you are located. There are guys that might need a good cab and/or doors or hood.
Hi guys, sorry, the cab, doors, and hood are located in Canyon Country, which is in Southern California, near Magic Mountain, or about an hour North of Los Angeles. I’ll post some photos tonight or tomorrow morning.
I won’t get into specifics as to why or how, but someone welded the fenders and running boards to the body. They have been cut free, but we’re destroyed in the process. I need the front left fender still, but have the other one, as well as a set of the smooth style repop running boards. I have a bit of work ahead of me.
Regarding the rear doors: a previous owner sunk a license plate box into the left rear door. I cut it out years ago, and this piece of steel sheet was to be shaped and welded into place. However, I scored another set of doors that are in way better shape than my current doors, and for less than half of what I saw a set go for recently on eBay.
Anyway, thanks for looking, and I hope to make some more progress on my firewall, cowls, and floors this weekend. I’m shooting to have the new frame under this body and the truck on the road in it’s rat/dark side form by the end of the summer.
Last question for this thread, and then I’ll be starting a new one with background on my project truck, as well as updates and progress for full documentation of this build.
Does anyone have any advice on firewall replacement? I bought the two piece set from AMD, and have started drilling spot welds, but would like to avoid any pitfalls. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I only replaced the left side on my pickup and had just a little re-work to do around the area where the wiper motor went to match up with the original, the rest seemed to fit fine..
