Torque management

I've been growing tired of my trucks lack of power in 1-2nd gear... Where's a good start to get a better tune and a little more umph on the low end 2018 f250 power stroke

You should get full torque at 1800 rpms I believe. What exactly are you looking to accomplish? Burn rubber when taking off from red light?

Yea I was more or less looking for other people with the same problems or feelings towards the sluggish truck... I'm looking for people who have done something about it or have improved in these areas... Sorry for confusion or annoyance

It kind of feels like I don't have a turbo until 3rd gear

Torque management bugs those of us old enough to be accustomed to non torque managed V8's burning rubber.

I would prefer to manage torque with my foot rather than some program or software

Thank you, especially when trying to dodge some idiot driver. When I smash the pedal if the computer sits there thinking things over for 2-3 seconds not reacting that's a deal breaker for me. (cough Ram cough)

That is about 75% of the reason why I traded in my 2016 Cummins for my gas SD.

He said it was a power stroke.

So with no torque management, you smash the pedal while turning to dodge some other driver, the rear end breaks lose and now your out of control. You may be Mario Andretti but most are not. If you smash the pedal your going to get turbo lag anyway. My 6.7 has plenty of power for what I need it to do most which is towing.

Still, if given a choice, I would rather not have torque management but I understand the need for Ford to limit the strain on the drive train at least while it is under warranty.

The torque converter locks up in 4th gear - the Edge Insight shows this in the gear indicator function. When you see it, you can feel it (maybe it’s mental) but I know when you punch it in 4th - it’s alive. I don’t like the idea of a Pedal Commander but, I can see how it would make a difference in the acceleration - may want to look into that. Also, I’ve read a lot about the Stealth tuner but I’m not sure if they’ve kept up with the 19-20’s but they were pretty sharp for the 17’s.
