Mine hasn’t had any torque management for the last 60,000 miles. Tow fairly heavy often and seems to be doing just fine drivetrain wise. Don’t think this has much to do with drivetrain life hence why the DRW trucks only limit torque in the first gear 🤷🏽♀️ Which I think is pretty lame anyhow because with all the other computer nannies...good luck getting it sideways with traction control and stabilitrac enabled, heck even disabled.
I threw a Banks Derringer on mine. Did a write up on it on here too. Its pretty amazing how quickly my big old 450 can get motivated. Off the line- its axle wrap and hopping. Commercial tires don't like to grip like standard tires do. On a 250, it should make a noticeable improvement.
Is my understanding/memory..... Ford started doing torque management because tires couldn't take the additional stress loads of taking off from a stop. They started or should I say increased doing it around 2011. The sidewalls couldnt handle the heavy loads with good traction. Something had to give and it was sidewall of tires.
I've been growing tired of my trucks lack of power in 1-2nd gear... Where's a good start to get a better tune and a little more umph on the low end 2018 f250 power stroke
So, when I spools my turbos on my 2020, it will burn the rubber off my 35's, kick sideways with the automatic locking rear end and hit 60 in under 5 seconds....is this what you're looking for?

Ford started the torque management program on the 3V Modular gasoline and 6.4 Power-Stroke diesel era trucks. I think you are correct that they increased the nannies in 2011.

Expecting that from a modern Super Duty, well you know as well I the rest of us that's not going to happen. These are purpose built for the masses.
OP, I've own 17 Super Duty's since 99, starting with my 2nd 05, it was chipped from the get go. Pretty much all of them have been deleted since 2011 with a few hundred miles...... You want more giddy up and go, that's the only way.
