An evtm may help a bit on this one. I know the vehicle is an E-150 but the F-150 evtm could help out if anyone has one. Did a KOER about 10 times couldn't get it to do a cylinder balance test. Most of the time the code reader came up clear. 3 times it flagged SPOUT (213) and Knock sensor(225). The after the engine is started and settles out idle it begins to miss randomly. If I gas it I don't hear any misses. As it idles out it starts randomly missing again.
I also have two connectors hanging on the driver's side. One appears to be for a vacuum solenoid that is not there and the other is part of the harness that runs to the transmission. PO had new dizzy and transmission put in. The later being the main reason I bought the van for $1000. I have a charger 300 in my 86 F150 so if I could salvage the efi one out of this van I would like too. Worst case I use the block as a core charge for a new motor. And save everything that bolts to it. The engine supposedly is over 402k as it is.
I do not believe there is a Cylinder Balance Test available for Speed Density Trucks/Bronco/Vans. For Code 213 verify the SPOUT plug is installed. Code 225 does not necessarily mean the knock sensor is bad. It only means no spark knock was detected during the KOER tests. Not goosing the throttle enough, higher elevation, using premium fuel, very cool/cold ambient temperature can trigger a false Code 225. Many times even under normal testing testing conditions you may get Code 225 even with nothing wrong with the knock sensor.
It's is highly suggested you start with the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) tests and Stored Code display before running the KOER tests.
How old/condition are the spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor?

Cannot help you with the missing solenoid.
PO had all new distributor wire and plugs put in. I am going to check spark plugs condition next chance I get under the hood, may go ahead and do compression at the same time.
The SPOUT is typically located near the Ignition Control Module (ICM). On 1992 and up F-series truck both are on the driver side inner fender near the hood hinge. I believe the 1988 and up 460 trucks that change started that model year. On a van...I have no idea.
Edit: The Econoline vans have the SPOUT and ICM in almost the same location as the trucks according to my EVTM.

Great, at work now I'll take a look when I get home.
