Having problems with my 4WD.
New Locking hubs, no vacuum crap but randomly will not go into 4wd. I get the 4WD dash lights both high and low but does not go into 4WD. Do not have anyone to help me look under truck to see if its shifting.
Checked and lubed the harness and all looks clean and looks ok.
Easy way to test that cam switch on the transfer case.
Thanks
You can jump the shift solenoids on your truck I believe they are just in front of the brake booster two solenoids if you jump them and hear them click you should be able to hear the motor at the transfer case shift.
I I removed my motor off of the transfer case and manually shifted it with an adjustable wrench. It will shift counter-clockwise going into 4-wheel high and 4-wheel low and counterclockwise going in the opposite direction.
I left the motor off and tested it by jumping my solenoids I can hear the motor moving in both directions. I was able to do that much by myself.
Will jump the relays- they are new but will most likely remove the motor at the transfer case and check out the connections and if the motor moves. I was also told that in the earlier trucks the 4wd is controlled by a GEM module under the dash. Will start with the motor and if that is working then dig out the GEM module. It was working perfect over the past weeks. Just this am no go and of course we had snow.
