Front drive line interchangeable
I have found a drive line out of a 86 4x4 f150 four speed Mt with a inline six in it. I was wondering if it would interchange with a 82 4x4 f150 four speed Mt inline six. I have had multiple conflicting info some say yes some say no. The salvage yard just lists it as compatible with 80-84 Ford truck. Any info would be greatly appreciated . Both trucks are single cab unknown bed length due to one not having a bed and the other a after market flat bed.

They only thing I'd look out for is different rear ends and wheelbases. You made need a different driveshaft. But yeah, they should be the same. Hit them with a tape measure, can check the wheelbase quickly as well.

It will fit. The only difference may be when you go to the store to do a brake job. You may need to get 1986 brake parts instead of the earlier year parts, they did change some small things along the way. But the whole complete assembly will bolt in.
