Keyless entry....no factory code

Bought the daughter a car...no its not a 6.7 but I figured you guys could help...I own 3 other 6.7s. Its a 2014 Ford Fusion. It has keyless entry, but previous owner obviously took the dang card with factory code on it out of the car. Any way to change the code or do I need to talk to a dealer? Thanks guys.

Read the comments. May be able to retrieve the code with your cell phone camera without disassembling anything.

I use IDS normally to access modules, but also have used other tools that work so so.

Example: Forscan (which I do not recommend given the likelihood of Russian hackers infiltrating it) under the Modules (w/PIDS) area --- it will pull these up (often with a range of two possibilities for each entry position so you may have to do a little trial and error). I believe it's also under the "Services" tab.......

I believe Forscan is still "free to try" (haven't used it in a while)..........so give it a shot.........

Find out where the computer module is under the dash. The code will be printed on it.

Get an ELM327 adapter and down load FORScan software to your Windows laptop. connect to the car, go to service procedures and read the keyless door code.

If you have both original keys, insert one and turn the ignition on briefly but do not start. Then insert the other and turn on the ignition. The factory keyless entry code will appear in the display in the instrument panel. At least it does on later models.

Ford Fusion tech help doesn't mix well with a 6.7L diesel forum.

Moved over to General Auto Discussion forum for ya.
