This ‘15 F150 is still new to me. One thing I’ve noticed that leaves me confused is when I’m getting in or out of the truck and the motor is off, keys in hand, the steering wheel doesn’t lock like every other vehicle I’ve ever owned. I’m baffled as to why. Any thoughts?
They don't and I'm not sure if it is all of them or just the keyless start models. The keyless makes sense since the key switch is what was used to lock the steering - not that they couldn't do it with a servo like the shift lock.

I’m not saying this is the case but perhaps it has something to do with the steering rack being electric instead of hydraulic.

It'd be more complicated, the brake pedal is never in a bind when released with a steer tire against the curb.
But yes I think it's a direct product of keyless start. Really, these vehicles aren't easily going anywhere that a steering lock would prevent without keys in-hand . . . or a tow truck.

Reason: Added "easily"
All the keyed trucks have a lock. Steering locks are pretty pointless in practice. Ford makes the lock very unique because the lock will only engage with the wheel inverted fully.
Ok got ya..... with the wheel lock.....I had actually never noticed it until I read this thread...... since. Then every time I park it I check it..... it doesn't lock. No big deal for me.....
