My son and I put one on a 1997 F150 RWD Supercab back in 2003. At the time the kit was quality parts. The front install went very fast. Since the new coils were shorter than the stock coil springs, it was easy to remove the stock springs and put the new ones in. However the rear install didn't go as well. But it was because the stock spring hangers at the front of the leaf spring did not want to come off. We removed the rivets holding the hangers but the hangers still did not want to come off. We tried heat, crowbars and everything else. Finally drove the truck to the local dealership (hangers still stayed on the frame the whole trip) where they were finally able to remove the hangers after about 2 hours. Had them install the new hangers and put shims in the driveshaft due to the changed angle. They only charged me $200.00 for all of the work. I dodged a bullet on the bill. Could have been much higher.

My son drove the truck after he got his drivers license. He liked it. But I thought the ride was too harsh because the new coils being shorter had a much higher spring rate. I still have the truck and drive it daily. Ride still harsh.

Thanks for the details. I had wondered about ride quality. The truck is now 17 years old so the ride is wimpy. What size rims are those?

The wheels are 20" x 8" American Racing Terons with Michelin Premier LTX 275/45R20.
