I just have a few questions. I have an 08 expedition EL, 2wd. She's been driven 229,000 miles, just replaced the torque converter, but found out the engine has an internal oil leak. I was told it might me less expensive to just get a new engine, but with a new truck on the way, I was going to turn the vehicle into a project truck. My idea is to remove the 5.4 and swap it with the V10 from a similar year F250. There's plenty of room, so I don't think that would be an issue, but what about the transmission? And controls?
So it leaks from the inside to the inside? Where is it leaking inside? What is the symptom that leads to this diagnosis?

I think you'd be best off taking a V-10 and its mated transmission and transfer case and PCM all together. Preferably with the donor's wiring.
Unless you find a donor truck to start with, your problem is going to be finding a PCM that can control a V10 and a the 6r75/6hp26 that was never mated behind a v10.
That and the lighter duty 6r probably won’t last long behind the rather stout V10. The later 6r80 might be OK, given the torque that the ecoboost puts out.
