I’m new to this website, but I’m kinda at a loss. I have a 2003 e450 with 7.3 in it. Just replaced injectors with stock ones, glow plugs, valve cover gaskets, wiring harness, and HPOP lines and seals. First start up was pretty rough. Realized the HPOP lines I purchased leak at one of the crimps from manufacturing.... long story short, while at idle and running it shakes and acts as if it’s running on 4 of the 8 cylinders. Will a HPOP leak from a line cause it to run like garbage like this?? I’m waiting on new lines to come in. I’m just anxious and just want some assurance that the HPOP leak is what’s making the truck miss and not the injector install... thanks!
With the system cracked open and replaced, id suspect air still making its way thtu the injectors. You may also look up the Hutch mod...thatll give symptoms your experiencing
Re-torque the injector hold down bolts when it's warmed up. You can remove the VCs while idling without making a mess.
He didn't mean remove them while its idling, he meant you can leave the valve covers off and then start and let it idle and it won't make a mess. No way you want to try n wrench to remove them with it running
That kind of work will allow air into the oil and fuel systems and it takes a while to purge. I think rule of thumb is 50 miles to clear it all out.
No codes right? If it really is running on 4 that could indicate a IDM issue, but that will throw a code.
Also inspect underneath the wiring harness that runs to the 42 pin connector. It can rub on the driver side valve cover and cause shorts.

Only code I get is telling me the injection Control Pressure pressure is below norm...
I just hope that fixing this leaking line is what is causing my issues..
