My 04 F150 temp gauge is having a probem and I was curious if anyone else is seeing the same thing. This morning, I was in the desert. It was pretty cold (50's). When I got back in the truck in the afternoon, it was nearly 100 degrees. However, the thermometer was at 50 degrees. It took about 20 minutes or so for it to sloooowly climb up to the correct temp.
Sory to hear this on the 04 150s I have a 03 Expedition and it has the same problem. Dealer says this is normal. Just another reason I will not buy another Ford product.
I have had a few cars with these outside temperature gauges. I also know people who have other makes with them. All outside temperature gauges do this. It takes the thermometer awhile to heat up or cool down when you turn the car on. Just part of having one of those. They are only accurate after you've been moving awhile.
This is a known problem with 04 F150.
I will bet your a/c doesn't work well when
temp is acting up also.Go to your dealer, tell
service advisor of problem. If he dors not
know the fix, tell him to look up the bulletin.
It is a computer prom reflash.
It is perfectly normal and how all have worked since they have been avaliable from Ford. It will report the last recorded temp on start up and will gradually increase unless you maintain a constant speed over 35 for 3 minutes.
I hang out at F150 Online sometimes. They have been following
a few problems that have come to light since more and more fo
the 04 F150 have hit the road.Since you own one of these beautiful beast, you may want to take a look at that forum.
took delivery of an '04 Lariat Friday, 10/17. Today, 10/20, the outside temp guage was stuck on 66 degrees and it was about 92 degrees outside here in So/Cal. drove for 45 minutes and it slowly worked up to 81, but never went higher. had to work a/c manually.
I'm having the same problem with my 04 F150 FX4. I was driving yesterday and my therm said that it was 47 outside and it was actually 75 deg outside. I drove around all afternoon and it slowly went up to around 56 deg but that's it. I haven't noticed any problems with the AC.
I just took delivery on a 04 lariat Crew and am curious. Am I seeing that there is a connection between the engine temp. gauge and the outside temp. indicator that can affect A/C operation?
The engine temp. is not affected.
It only has to do with the outside temp.
If the outside temp.is not correct the a/c
compressor will not turn on in auto mode.
