Trade in value

What do you do think a 17 F-250 diesel 4x4 with xlt premium package and 27 thousand miles is worth for trade in? I want to have a number in mind when we negotiate my next order. It’s in excellent condition and still under warranty.

I just bought a 2019 F-250 Diesel 4x4 XLT with 32000 miles and paid 39500. That should be pretty close minus the difference in retail and trade in.

Used nada guides and put your truck in there. Looks like low end would be 37k. Average is 39k.
Flyguy got a hell of deal if he paid 29k. Sure it wasn't stolen? Lol

I'm calling BS on this supposed price.... that's a ridiculously good deal.

My mistake. Fat fingered, 39500 is what I thought I was typing and paid.

In my experience, take the trade in value and subtract about 15%. This get's you closer to wholesale. Your dealer may be different, but this is what they offer around here. It's always a hard sell to get the book "trade" value.

Go look at KBB and Edmond, aways a good start. As is Cargurus to see recent sales prices. Going to CarMax and seeing what they will get you in writing is always nice when you are sitting at the desk starting trade in value talks. Establishes the floor for you knowing worst case. Plus its free, quick and easy.

That's because of the metric system.

in my area dealers will offer 66% of KBB trade in value and then sell at 100% retail KBB value.

This has been my experience as well. I was looking at newer truck a couple weeks ago where they low balled me roughly $10K. I litterly laughed out loud in the salesmans face and walked out the door. This is why I have found you waste way less time working it over email or text when it comes to vehicle purchasing.

It may very well be that dealers figure there is big demand for the revised truck with the new drivetrains. One way to "raise the price" is to offer way less for the trade-in.

May be best to hold off for awhile and let things cool off.
