Added auxiliary Reverse lights to rear bumper, with pics
#61
You really know how to go toe to toe in this ad hoc battle of auxiliary reverse lights installation alternatives.
Using existing factory fastener points, you've executed a non invasive install with no cutting, no drilling, no breaking the oem corrosion protection barriers, no compromising the hitch or committing the bumper to always be filled with something after the first light breaks or fails.
The round fixtures resolved the potential conflict between the angularity of the bumper versus horizontally orienting rectangular fixtures.
And your aux lamps are set furthest apart laterally, shining light where it can reflect against what can be seen in the outside rear view mirrors.
When you dipped your toes into this thread, you pulled out all the

ran the wires tonight. I wanted to run them down the drivers side to stay away from exhaust. I used GXL (high temp wire) ran 3 of them in split loom. The tricky part is getting around the DEF and Fuel tank. To get around these, I followed the factory wire bundle, until it passed over a bracket above the rear axle, then I went into the frame, and out the frame forward of the fuel tank to pick up the factory harness again. Followed it into engine bay and over to the upfitter box. I'll make the connections and solder this weekend.
yellow arrow was the bracket, and the red arrow is the hole where it went into the frame

all done, the rigid SRQ floods are stupid bright. they put out an enormous amount of light in all directions, I was quite surprised, im really happy with them. Tidying up the bundles of wire was easier with the spare tie out of the way. The lights came with nice weather pack connectors so i kept those, soldered, shrink wrapped the rest, and attached to up fitter. For a ground I used the 14mm bolt above the spare tire. Still on the fence about amber strobes in the back but at least I've got the wires there if I do. Thanks for all the inspiration and ideas in this thread.

It doesn't look like you "chickened out".

Duly noted.
And drilling into the hitch took more, or bigger, juevos (eggs) than drilling into the bumper.
Which came first? The chicken or the eggs?
I'm too chicken to play chicken with a hitch.

safety police on scene.
do you know big a 13/64" size hole is? How about an M6 bolt, have you ever seen one of those? Im really living on the edge!
I will report back when my tow hitch crumbles off like a potato chip under the hulking 7,000 lbs. of gross trailer weight

Added a 2nd set of lights under my F350's rear bumper. Both are Ultra Vision (Australia) lights - the smaller ones are Ultra Vision 25w LEDs connected to the Reverse circuit and the larger lights are Ultra Vision Atom 45w LEDs connected to an Upfitter Switch.

i ran my wires on the passenger side, through the frame once i got past the cab. i fished them through using flexible wire chasers. this kept wires away from hot parts and protected inside their plastic loom.
under bed i zip tied to factory wiring runs. never know it was not there from factory

. I bought the trailer connector but hardwired it to the tail lights and actually bought a kit from limitlessautoworks.com that goes unti the factory harness and has a wire to run to the upfitters to be able to turn reverse lights on with the upfitters
