Power Running Boards

Hoping someone has an answer on how to do this.

I have a 2020 F450 with power deployable running boards. I like the way they look and would prefer they stay out all the time. Within truck settings, there is a screen for the running boards with options of Off, Out, or Auto. If I select Out it works but only until the truck is shut off. Then it defaults back to Auto.

Is there a way to truly have them deployed all the time? I know defeats the purpose of having power deployable running boards. They just came with the truck.

Perhaps there's a fuse I can pull or something when they are in the deployed position?

Thx

Pulling a fuse could be your best bet. I haven't heard of anything in FORScan that would let you keep the running boards in the deployed position.

Well, I answered my own question. I crawled under the truck and checked the wiring to each running board. There's a simple plug for each motor unit that powers each running board. I disconnected the plug while the boards were out. Problem solved. I should go back and cover each plug with tape so debris doesn't clog the connectors.

Since you don’t like the power boards. Would you be interested in trading them out with cash. if they would fit. I have a 2019 and would love to have power boards.

As I remember, in the instrument panel computer, there is a place to manage the power running boards.

That's correct. But if you set them "Out" from that screen, they automatically retract once you go over 5 MPH or so.

Good to know. I have never used this feature and just had a vague understanding that there was some control via this method.
