Full Delete on 2017: No Smog County
I have the pleasure of living in county with no smog inspection and looking into performing a full delete. What tuner and parts would you recommend? Right now EZ Lync seems to be the tuner I should get. Not sure of the other items at this time. I am looking to remove the DPF, DEF, and EGR. Right now it is bone stock.

I recently moved from CA to Utah. There are plenty of people running full delete and a few shops still selling delete packages of some type. Again, I live in a county that does not require any smog inspection (SMOG EXEMPT). I am just looking at suggestions on what works. My knowledge is just what I read about a year ago on this forum for entertainment only. My objective for full delete and new tune is reliability, better for my motor, and more power (in that order).

not to rain on your parade, its your truck to enjoy as you wish, but FYI! so you know what you could be in for down the road, my cousin just went through this, his '13 F250, had the delete it done ($3400) with software and hardware upgrade, 264000 miles, trade in for new one 2019, Dealership wouldnt take it, he got mad, went to chevy, they wouldnt take it either, so ($4700) later had it all back on and went back to Ford, and they traded with him, would had been a ($25,000) fine for them if caught with known delete truck, they now have you sign a waiver, saying all emissions equip still operational. Ford told him, EPA getting strict, so if you do find a way to get it done correctly...keep everything you take off in safe place, his ($4700) was with JY parts.

you can still get you a good tuner/programmer, and it will definitely help, get you a muffler delete, and you will notice an improvement, SCT/Bully Dog, programmer updates has taken ERG delete function out when you update the firmware, SCT is what my cousin had is how I know this, same company owns the firmware that SCT/Bully Dog use

Although the emissions equiptment will need replacement at some point the emissions equiptment have become more reliable on the newer trucks. A big push in the industry to improve performance and reliability is currently happening. The understanding of tuning an emissions intact truck are evolving to tuning that will deliver higher performance without overloading the emissions gear. If you want to loose the weight off the truck it's your choice but do research and learn about the pros and cons. With good tuning and some bolt on goods they are tuning these newer trucks to have more power with less regens and less DEF useage.
