My 71' f-250 4x4 has play in the steering shaft u-joint. How hard is it to replace? I've done regular u-joints but I don't see any clips or bolts on this set-up.
Are you sure the play is not in the rag joint? They are inexpensive and not difficult to repair. (not my own experience but lots of posts on this subject). Good luck.

I replace mind 23 yrs ago,But first you need to find a replacement
.there is 1/2 moon clips inside. I'm was still good but the yoke slip joint was bad. So, I ended up getting after market $$$ ONE. There is a grease nipple on it. If greased will last a long time, Check steeling box for play. It can be adjusted to tighten it up. Maybe you can get one from a Drive line rebuilder.
