Any one know if there's a fuse for brake lights not working? I've replaced the mechanical switch w/a new one, parking and signal lights work, except brake lights. If anyone has had this trouble before I sure appreciate any information or help you can provide.
I see the wires at the fusebox, not sure which one it is because there's no Brake light label, it says Back (maybe that means Brake light), it's a 2 amp fuse, I believe it should be a 10 amp at least? Anyway, appreciate the info, we'll keep trying.
this is how I found this. I fixed it. the wire for the brake light is the green one going over. I believe. the sm fuse on the rt .is radio. the one with the threaded rod is the brake light fuse

Love the old school tin foil “repair” of the fuses. I used to keep some in the glove box for TEMPORARY repairs. It is sometimes amazing what people will do with wiring. “the one with the threaded rod is the brake light fuse” 😀 What is that about a million amps! Glad you located and took care of this before the truck burnt to the ground.
Mine is probably worse than yours if that makes you feel better. I found wiring running through holes in the chassis, without grommets, wrapped around the metal fuel line.
Just want to let every one that when I replaced the turn signal light switch/wiring....that fixed it....now brakes, lights, turn signals all work.
I hope you got rid of all the tin foil and threaded rod.. Also if any of the fuses are loose, I've seen those ends at one of my electric suppliers, I'll see if I can find a link. If the fuse doesn't snap in tight they can get hot from the loose connection and melt the fuse panel.
