Hi COE50, welcome!
My recommendation would be based on - what is the intended end use?
Six volt systems can be problematic in very cold conditions, but they do maintain OEM originality.
Twelve volt systems are more efficient, allowing higher power density, smaller wires & components to do the equivalent work. The mid '50's saw the migration to 12 volts due to the increasing demands of higher compression engines that required more power to start, plus the higher demands from more accessories.
I completely rewired and changed my '50 COE to 12 volts for two reasons:
1) The critters had literally eaten up all the existing wiring and the starter motor had to be replaced anyway.
2) I have planned on replacing all of the manual mixer functions with remote controlled linear actuators and pneumatic controls, and added an electric air compressor (also added an air ride seat).

I guess I should figure out what I want to do with the truck. I was just fixated on getting it running. An air compressor would be a nice addition if I installed some load leveling bags...🤔

I don't think you will require load leveling bags on a F-6 unless you intended to slam it, and that would be a whole different ball game. My compressor is for mixer controls, air ride seat, and air horn.
WOW! Hope you realize what you got there - very rare stainless grille bars, and the body looks good from what I can see. Those pictures whetted the appetite. More please, at your leisure.

I did not realize it until now, That’s good to know. There is not much else to see but I can take some more pictures. What did you want to see?

I know it seems like a lot to ask, but that data will provide the best feedback and advice.
1) Cab interior showing dash & seat
2) Instrument cluster.
3) Outer rear cab corners.
4) Wheels, front & rear (checking for widow makers).
5) Differential (Eaton 2-speed?).
6) ID tag on passenger side upper firewall (maybe stamping on cowl as well?) and inside dispatch box door.
7) Engine bay, right and left.
How is your truck configured now? We desperately need to see some pictures, As many as you can muster.
What is going on with this site! It took us until post #20 to ask for pictures???? Man, we are slipping.
I stayed 6V to save cost and for originality purposes. If you go 12V you need to remember your gauges are 6V and that has to be accounted for.
For 6V proper sized cables and good grounds are critical.
Awesome COE. I can't want for more pictures. By the way, as you work on the truck, take 10 times more pictures than you think you need. Then take a few more.

thanks for the advise. I haven’t taken many pictures at all. I’ll have to get some. I was planning on working on it today but it’s pouring here and the truck is outside.
