Anybody know if the brakes are the same on the full-float vs semi-float drum brake rear ends?
I'm swapping out the 3.73 semi-float D60 in my 97 E250 for a 4.10 full-float from a 98 E350.
I have not picked up the replacement rear end yet.
Curious if I need to buy drums and shoes and such.
My current D60 rear is noisy. Has the pinion bearing grumble AGAIN (250000 miles).
I figure, if I need to pay for a rebuild, I'll upgrade to a full-float and throw money at it as needed.
I'll be towing my 8000ish lb toy hauler. never had a problem with semi-float wheel bearings or axles but the full-float idea makes me feel good.
And I think the 5.4 will appreciate the 4.10.
