Hello,
I have an opportunity to purchase a 2018 F350 Lariat 6.2L gasser with 21000 miles. One owner, I know him, mint condition, crew cab, shorter box. He is asking $51500. Just off the cuff..... is this an ok deal?
Without knowing the specific options on the truck, doing a quick Kelly Blue Book quote, seems pretty decent especially since you know the owner. That could be almost priceless. Based on his delivery date, it might still have a portion of the 36 month/36K bumper to bumper. It would certainly have some of the 60 month/60k power train warranty.
You didnt state what model. XLT...Lariat? that makes a big difference. I paid 51 and change for my 2019 250 Lariat value package brand new. That was out the door in the low 56 range. A 350 in similar trim would be less than $2,000 above the 250. A Lariat Ultimate package is about $3,000 where the Value Package is $700 some. So a 350 Lariat Ultimate would be as much as 5,000 over my purchase.
On the other hand. If there were new 350s on a dealer lot right now they would be offering deep cuts.
I would check what you can do new and compare that way. Interest rate would be lower on a new purchase. Warranty would be full.
