Chrome accessory ???s
I've got my FE446 looking pretty clean (a few water stains on the Edel aluminum intake), but otherwise it's pretty. So I added a Chrome 100 amp alternator from Jeg's.
1. Has anybody found a chrome or at least more attractive power steering pump? What other years/engines are using a similar pump to a 67-72 FE truck? I bought a rebuilt pump from Autozone and it looks worse than my old one. I hit it with brake cleaner to clean it up and paint it and the paint they put on it came off. It's like they used some oil-based bath to paint it. Pathetic :-( I bet they don't do anyhting but dip about half of these cores....
2. I didn't get a wiring diagran for my new alternator. It is not a 1-wire setup. It has one larger post with red insulator (I assume that goes to the battery), it has 2 smaller posts with black insulators and 2 smaller uninsulated posts. Any ideas on how to hook it up? If I a wiring this up without the original truck wiring, is there supposed to be some regulator? If so, what does it do? My engine is just sitting on the chassis without the body right now. It's running off battery for test runs with out an alternator.
