Let me take this opportunity to wish all FTE member's a Happy New Year!!
I would be interested in comment and or recommendations on an entire wiring kit for my 65 CC, I just purchased a dash to firewall harness as a quick fix until I decide whether to keep the 65 CC but the wiring is such a mess I am considering returning the dash harness and going with an entire kit that will replace all the wiring, not only the engine, alternator, headlight but also all the wiring under the dash to include both truncated harnesses coming from the firewall to the dash, and I would prefer a kit that requires the least amount of crimping and soldering.
The make your own aftermarket kits make sense if you're building a restomod with a modern fuel injected engine with an electronically controlled transmission. I've never used one, but looking at them they obviously require a lot of work to tailor them to fit. If you're not sure you want to keep the truck, I think that's a big investment in time and money you won't get a return on. It's nearly impossible to get your money back out of these trucks, so whatever upgrades you make you have to do it for your own enjoyment.
Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!! Thank U for the link and if I should decide to purchase the entire kit I will give a holler.
Eric and 66v8baby; I agree and there lies the dilemma $500 is a lot particularly since I am not sure I want to keep the truck. At present, I will keep the dash harness and get the truck in the best presentable condition as possible.
I do have a question about the dash harness if any member knows if there is a difference between dash harness C5TZ-14398-CB purchased thru DC, or return the harness for C5TZ-14398-BN thru Green Sales?
I thank U's all for the input!!
I was under the impression you needed the under dash harness. But that -CB is usually called the gauge feed harness, MAC's sells them for $57. If you are redoing the under hood harness's they also have the headlight harness for $100 and the alternator harness for around $85. I believe the under dash is reproduced also but it is stupidly expensive. I used a good under dash harness I had and rewired it to a fuse panel that uses ATC fuses.
Yes what I really need is a kit that covers all the wiring under the dash but I could only find 1 supplier American Autowire and their kit runs around $800 just for what they refer to as their dash harness but it includes an upgraded fuse block and wiring but at this point, it ain't going to happen.
The wiring on the CC is spindled and mutilated but all the gauges work, the primary issue is with the turn signal circuit, I may return the DC harness and purchase it thru Green Sales, appearance-wise it may clean up the mess a bit?

Sent my email address, let me know if U did not received it, and at your convenience, my winter 'to do' list is lengthy.
I am replacing the harness in the 65 styleside but in the process, one of the wires come loose from the fuse clip/retainer and in order to reattach the wire I will need to remove the clips/retainer, I have a couple of spare fuse blocks and practicing removing the clips and finding it can be a major time-consuming pain in the backside. I will probly go the route of removing the clips and soldering the wire but curious if there is an alternative fuse block I may want to consider should I decide to add circuits in the future?
When I rewired my stock harness to accommodate circuits for the backup lights and neutral safety and no resistor ignition circuit. I changed to a 6 circuit ATC fuse panel. These things are super cheap on e-bay and there are a bunch of different ones. This one did require a spacer under it to get more clearance for the wires.

Thank you for the input and after sleeping on it decided to see how removing the clip and soldiering, if all goes well install the harness and be done with it. If I decide to keep the truck intend checking out a wiring replacement kit.
