Changed oil today in the 95 F-150 Eddie Bauer, 5.0L and noticed both driver and passenger side just aft of the front tires there isn't any floor board body plugs in the round 3/4" and 1 1/8" openings. So I checked my 93 F-150 Supercab and there isn't any on it. Although my 77 F-150 has rubber body plugs. I checked my Ford Service (Body) manual and couldn't find anything about Body Plugs. Assuming Body Plugs been deleted since the Dentside (73-79) era. I checked my Mac's catalog which I occasionally use to get parts for my 77 F-150 and both sizes are available. I'm hesitant to plug the floor board holes. Question. Are the floor board holes used to provide fresh air through the vent duct work?
Also, the oblong holes, one on each side of the front of the cab don't have metal covers like my 77 F-150 does, and there's even a small hole to mount a metal cover using a sheet metal screw. Are these body opening left open intentionally?
Want to resurrect this thread and seeking input. Over the weekend I cut 1/8" aluminum and covered the two oblong body opening holes, one to the rear of the driver's and passenger's tires also used a 3/4" and 1 1/8" rubber body plug to plug them opening. Reason I did this, I store my 95 F-150 Eddie Bauer outside, under an awing and covered. Intent to eliminate openings for mice entries. Question, is there any determent with the ventilation system by blocking these body opening?
Jackietreehorn,
Unfortunately I do not at this time, I still use an old style flip phone. The next time my son comes over, I'll ask him to take a picture of two of the underneath body opening, I'll then post them on this thread.
My question / concern is there any determent with the truck's ventilation system with blocking off the underneath 3" oblong body openings, one on driver's and one on passenger's side, just to the rear of the front tires?
1 1/8" Rubber Body Plug used to cover round hole opening on bottom side (underneath) of the floor pan. One on Driver and Passenger sides. Use 1/8" stick aluminum to block 3" oblong opening on each Driver and Passenger side, just to the rear of the front tires.
Diesel Brad and Jackietreehorn,
Copy all you've commented on and this is just I'm seeking input from experienced forum members.
On a different note, it does rain in California, but not normally after Easter through Thanksgiving. I'm originally from PA 15021 and still a hillbilly at heart.
