Anyone running aftermarket steering stabilizer on 2012 F350 Lariat SuperCab FX4 4x4 ? Mine has a 4" suspension lift and 12.50x35's. Thinking about putting one on it....
Before installing one check all the steering components for wear or slop, the stab will mask wear and eventually result in a larger repair bill. Draglinks, TRE, Pitman arm (both ends) ball joints, gearbox bolts...especially with the larger tires.
if everything is in good shape then just buy a cheap one, you can go expensive but realistically the stab is used to prevent feedback into the steering wheel. Don’t forget to remove it once a year to inspect steering components.
When I was shopping the MC had mixed reviews which didn't surprise me 'cause all these trucks notoriously had potential for DW issues.. still not sure why Ford couldn't have built in another degree of caster.
I was extra skeptical when my stock MC didn't *feel* bad by hand.... which I realize doesn't prove anything.
Anyway, the Bilstein had glowing reviews on Amazon and my experience was the same - the second it was installed my DW ceased and there was one nasty bridge transition that would set it off everytime if I had a trailer behind me. Now I no longer clinch my posterior cheeks when towing.
Would a Motorcraft have been equally effective? I can't say of course....

Ok Good advice there and can do. NOW I'm wondering though - PO told me it has 4" lift. It does have 12.50x35 x 18 Toyo Open Country tires on it. I thought the spring blocks in the rear were part of the lift - apparently the factory blocks were 4"?? Looking at the Rough Country dual stabilizer but they have one for 2" to 8" lift and one for stock. Been driving myself nuts looking at spec sheets etc trying to figure out whether or not it's lifted. Just measured and from ground to bottom of front fender is 43 1/2". Total roof height is like 84". Any ideas on what I have?

I would see what your year and model came with from the factory. Maybe post up a few pictures, I’m sure someone can help you identify what you have...
Mine doesn't currently have a stabilizer on it at all. I will get some pics of suspension parts and try to figure out how to put pics on here. (I dumped photobucket when they started charging $)
Well - first time uploading pics on a forum since photobucket days. Hope I did it right... Couldn't figure out how to get text and pics both. Anyway - I think I've discovered that in fact it does have a stabilizer. There is an extra bracket on the tie rod and I had removed some ubolts that were just hanging on the tie rod before - which is why I thought something was missing. SO - looking at these pics - has this thing been lifted?

It can be difficult to judge perspective in pics but I'd say no. Looking at front wheel well space, even if those are 35's, you're close to stock. I would say definitely not a 4" lift as you said in Post #1
