Tried changing the remote battery on the Maserati key fob yesterday, it uses the smallest torx bit known to man. One of the guys at work has one I can borrow, but I guess I will have to add another tool to the toolbox.
The bulb for the headlight switch burnt out in the Suburban, it takes a special bulb. Parts store doesn't have them and can't find them. The Chevy dealer can't find one either. Found one at a radio bulb website. it's 10 bucks for the bulb and shipping.
For some unknown reason my son woke up at 4 AM this morning and decided he needed some buttered rice. I fed him and put him back in bed with his mama. His red venom action figure came in the mail yesterday and he loves that thing. He played with it all evening.
The vent fan in the master bath has been making an awful noise the last few months. I finally pulled it out, then cleaned and lubed it and no more noise!!
I made the mistake of showing my wife pictures of the cruise ship "Symphony of the Seas" out of the port of Miami. She said that is the cruise ship we are going on next year.
TGIF !!!!
Tuesday it really started to pick up at work. Nice to keep the mechanics busy and not complaining about doing online training.
Picking up a battery for the 79 next week. I have to work this Saturday so I will try and drop the fuel tank next weekend. Really depends on how cold it is.
The storm just came thru and good lord at the winds. I have not seen winds that bad except in a hurricane. A lot of power outages in the area including us. A huge tree in my daughters yard fell down. In don’t see any damage at are place so far.
Still no power but thank goodness I bought an emergency generator a couple of years ago. We have extension cords run around the inside of the house. I need to get an electrician out and wire in a junction box to the panel.
Power came back on at about 9:30 last night!
No real damage at our house but a huge cypress tree fell at my daughters house. She was lucky because it missed the house and cars but it did block her driveway.

we got lucky no damage or loss of power. When I get the generators running I need to do that here.
Things are moving along good for the wedding. The last 2 things need to line up are the reception and photos. We started counseling with my pastor. We went to Forsyth and got some stuff for the bed room and dining room. We also got 2 oak bar stools. Still need to get 4 more side chairs and china cabinet. I an nit sure we will ever have the table full length. For just the 2 of us no leaves in is fine. Everything was 550
Nice Furniture!
Been playing with the new ride, Fixing a bunch of small stuff that never got fixed by the previous owner. Nothing crazy expensive yet. Biggest thing is dropping the transmission and replacing the torque converter seal that is leaking. The seal is cheap just lots of my labor. The only good thing of working on Saturdays right now is I get wrench time at work with little or no customers. Inside, dry and air tools!
Happy New Year, seems like you guys are full of excitement. How's the maintenance on that Maserati Chief? I have always wanted an exotic one day. Maybe a Quadraporte that I could tell my wife is a family car down the road. Hugh, wedding? wow I guess I have missed a lot. Whats everyone else up to lately?
The change engine oil light came on last month, one year or miles. Changed it but no crazy maintenance yet "knock on wood". Be aware you have to buy a special OBD reader that will reset the change oil light. Looked at a Q, insurance was more than double, we didn't buy that one!
Doing good and taking it day to day.
Drove the dodge to work this morning, about 2 miles from work hit a red light. Went to take off and the truck wouldn't shift out of first so I limped it to work. I checked the fluid level and it's good and a nice red color. Drove it home this afternoon and no problems. Very strange and now I'm scratching my head. I'll scan for codes tomorrow and see if I can figure out what's going on.
