Key on hot

We just traded our 2016 F150 for a 2019. I took my air bags off the 16 to install on the 19. On the 16 I just had the power supply wire for the on board compressor hooked to the battery. I would like to hook it to a wire that is only hot in run this time around. Has anyone found an easily accessible wire to tap into for 12 volt hot only in run?

I wouldn't put that on an existing ignition-on circuit. I'd put on a relay controlled circuit connected to the battery.

I am looking for an un-used wire that is hot while the truck is running like on the super duty trucks. I wouldn’t just splice into any old ignition wire... I don’t know why Ford doesn’t offer upfitter switches in the F150’s. They share the same cab as the super duty’s so why Ford wouldn’t make upfitter switches available as an option in the F150 is beyond me.

Probably to save a few bucks on the 90% that never see electrical add-ons.

That’s why I said to at least offer it as an option. To pay for if some wants it... like the multiple posts on here asking how to add upfitter switches to an F150. It costs way more to do it later.

Fuse 22 or 27 will work to trigger a relay. Don't attempt to run the compressor off any circuits without a relay that feeds from the battery. All the higher amperage circuits are taken in the SJB.
