Thanks, and I might add a second belt to the alternator, which the E-Fan makes that easy enough.
Just a though: after I mounted the fan, I should have made studs for the fan in case it needed to be removed.
The 4 mounts have a counter-sink impression in the plastic and I was thinking I could get some THIN 1/4x20 nuts on the bolt to hold, thus creating a stud for fan removal.
Just a thought for further down the road, or someone in the future.
Oh Well.
Actually you want the fans to kick on when the thermostat opens. If it were near the outlet hose it will take longer to react.
I disagree. The fan should come on above t-stat temp.
I have an Auto Cool Guy controller on my truck and the recommended location for the temp sensor is on the lower outlet. My controller is variable speed depending on sensor temp.
The lower hose is a better location because the fan will see water temperature after being cooled in the radiator.

-I was looking through the fins and the OEM radiator seems to have a extra fin (looks like/hard to tell).
-I'll try again to see it I can get the sensor through it.
-As for above, are you talking about the lower rad hose or upper?
-Which one is the way to go?
-Instructions read upper but,,,,,,,
Thanks again and never thought of the lower hose concept.
-Question: how many of you wire directly to the battery and let the fan controller do its job to cool the water in the radiator down when you park?
-Directions say it can be either direct, or off when the key is off?
-I don’t have a new car (1986 is my newest/Jeep) and I know those run electric fans and they run when the key is off on some vehicles.
Thanks,
JB
