Early 77 F250. 400 with C6 and divorced tcase. Full time 4x4. Trying to correctly id the axles and tcase. I believe it to be a 60 rear and HD44 front with a NP203 but looking for others inputs. I was told that they should be 8 lug but this truck is 7 lug front and rear.
Do you have pictures of the wheel lug pattern? I've only seen 7 lug bolt patterns on like 1 or 2 years of F250s in the 90s. This 77 should definitely be 8 lug, but you never know what people have done over the years. The T-case looks just like my NP203.

You have a Dana 60 rear, Dana 44 front, and a New Process 203 transfer case.
Thank you for the reply. I was thinking the same. How do I tell if low pinion or high pinion front? Also, I've been told they should be 8 lug. Was this maybe newer model diffs swapped in or did some come with the 7 lug? Thanks again.
The wheel covers are just covers, if you pop them off you should have 8 lug wheels underneath. The front should be a low pinion. If you look at where the driveshaft connects to the pinion, if it is below the axle centerline it is a low pinion, if above it is a high pinion. I can see in one of your pictures that it is a low pinion.
But either way, I'll say that's a great looking truck just from that one pic of the front!
Nice color combo and even the later model wheel covers look great on the earlier model.

Your truck, or one you're looking at?
Paul
This one I just purchased last night. Got it for $2K. I also have a 79 F150 (big orange)
Both pretty nice looking trucks. The early 80's rear fenders dont really look too far out of place.
No, it doesn't look bad at all. Eventually I'll put a "correct" style bed on it but here in Iowa a good clean short bed does not come up for sale very often.
