'97 F150 with Kelsey-Hayes RWAL (RABS) valve

I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why my ABS and Brake warning lights come on after a long/hard braking period (like an off-ramp to a stop).

I think I may have found the source of my problem and wanted to share some info in hopes that it may help others diagnose their issues with these systems. It seems that after 22 years and 299,200 miles, I MAY have a RWAL hydralic valve (not to be confused with a proportioning valve which is on the master cylinder), going out on my '97 F150.

Here is some great insight to the valve used in my rig:

I hope it helps.

I'm not the least bit familiar with any aspect of your post CBurg4383 but I'm sure its right on point and potentially helpful to anyone whose using that system or part.

Thanks for sharing what you've learned---its part of what FTE is about I think.

Reps sent!
