Anybody know the difference?

Anybody know the difference between these two (2) polyurethane lubricants? I used a bunch of the Prothane stuff on every bushing in a C5 Corvette, last year. I have no sounds coming from anywhere. I just got this other lube in a Energy Suspension kit.
Anybody?

Probably the same stuff, the packages look identical other than the printing.

Don’t overthink it, it’s petroleum.

they are both a silicone grease, the exact formula would be a company secret however its doubtful either of them are actually much different or that polyurethane like rubber requires any special consideration.

I use a 3m silicone grease on all my bushings, polyurethane or rubber.

3M makes some pretty good stuff. I use a lot of their products.

I have some Prothane left over from my ZO6 project, so that will be what I'll use until I run out, at which time I'll price out the 3M lube.

I just got this for all my Zerk fittings:

This is what I use for my MGW gear shifter in my Corvette and rubber O rings (it's food grade, as well):

For high heat areas, like brake slide pins, I use this Permatex lube. Works really good on my tiny stock C5 brakes that develop a bunch of heat.

I'd definitely recommend using an actual silicone brake grease for slide pins. Anti-seize is more of a corrosion prevention measure than it is a lubricant.

Interesting. All the Corvette track/race guys run this Permatex on their pins. I drove pretty hard this past September at Road Atlanta and they held up pretty good. I'll pull the pins out this weekend and take a look.
Thanks for heads up.

track guys likely R&R their brakes more often as well as have different needs, I do my Ex pins once a year right before winter and last yeR when I did them the permatex was thick and tacky my brakes were dragging bad, noticed it because my typical brake temps were rising beyond what i like. ( i check brake temps as well as hub, tire diff at every stop when i am towing ). easy to catch impending doom
