My dad purchased a semi restored f100 about two years ago and is slowly making it perfect. Currently the F100 has a 4 on the floor manual with a 302. He is wanting to make the truck an auto for cruising around town. He ended up buying a 78 bronco auto steering column fully restored that would fit the truck but it does not fit the Ranger steering wheel he purchased (it would work but there are some gaps and such that would be hard to fill and make perfect). Easy solution would be to get a different steering wheel but he is adamant about keeping it the ranger wheel. My question is where can I find him a 69 f100 auto column so he can use his ranger steering wheel? Are there reproduction ones that would work? He wants to keep the truck pretty stock looking.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Important info is need. 2wd or 4wd? It looks to be 2wd. 4wd columns are different in connecting to the steering gear. A lot of work to connect between the two. Power steering or manual steering? Either one uses a different length column. If manual, now would be a good time to convert to PS. If PS, what steering box is it, Bendix or Saginaw, as they require different length columns. For columns, you can get them from junkyards, used part places, Ebay, Facebook, or buying new from Iditit or Flaming River.
