I need your help/guidance with looking to buy a 97 f350 7.3. (275k miles) I will post pictures below with the information and such about the truck. I know the outside and interior are shot, which makes me wonder what the internals are like.
I am new to the whole diesel thing so I have been watching some YouTube channels getting familiar and to know my way around the engine and major problems with them.
I plan on moving from Southern Illinois to Alaska in the fall and am wondering if the mechanics are good, would the truck make the trip and survive the winters?
What I’d like to know is this truck even worth my time and money? What would you say it’s worth?
again I know this is a lot but I’m just looking for some answers/guidance on this as I am new to it.
a two wheel drive with 275k miles on it that was rode hard and put away wet?
i would offer $1,000 IF it cold starts and drives with no smoke or funny noises

I should’ve mentioned that it is 4x4, that is one of my needs as I need it in the alaskan winters. Would that change anything on price?
Are you sure about that? I don’t see a floor shifter for the 4x4 and I don’t see front hubs for the axle. It also looks to be sitting too low in the front end

I’ll be damned. I guess I’ve been so blind to the fact it’s a 7.3 and liked the looks I just assumed that it was 4x4. Now I really feel silly for that, thank you for pointing that out to me!
