I have a 78 f150 with a 400. Drove 3 hrs no problems 2 day for. Parked it for the night. Wouldn't turn back on next day. Just clicked when I tried to start. The battery is charged. Put the multimeter on it everything is good there. I checked the grounds on it and the starter relay. Tried replacing starter after I tested it and found that it wouldn't spin when hooked to battery. Still nothing. I tried to bypass starter relay with screwdriver. Just sparks. Could it be the ignition switch? Ideas?
Initial feeling is to remove the battery post clamps, clean them well and put em back, make sure they’re tight. What I’ve ran into on a couple different rigs.
edit: the new starter wouldn’t spin? Sounds like a bad battery

If you bypass starter solenoid on firewall it should crank ,,if you put 12 volts on the side that runs to starter it should crank over
Careful (if a manual xmsn) that it is in neutral when bypassing. Don't take out the garage door with your truck, Mama will not be happy.
Can also try banging on the starter case a few healthy raps with a small sledge or hammer, and see if it turns over then. If successful it means a new starter is in your future.
