DIY ‘6637’ filter install with extras!

The easiest way to do this mod is just unbolt the stock air filter box, add a piece of 4”OD tubing and install the ‘6637’ filter.

There are a couple little things that I think can make this mod better.

for starters, we no longer need any of the stock airbox. After all, there’s nothing wrong with being committed! The first thing we’re going to do is remove the battery so we can access the four bolts that hold the battery tray/air filter box in place.

remove the four bolts and take the battery tray/filter base out of the truck. Cut off everything that isn’t battery tray. Use file and/or 60 grit sanding sponge to remove sharp edges.

4” exhaust tubing works great for the filter adapter. Drill a hole for the factory filter minder so you don’t have to guess when filter needs changed!

More room for filter and cleans up engine bay!!

I prefer to use a t-bolt style clamp at the filter.

Here’s a couple others I’ve done recently:

Looks good Jason, That is pretty much how I have installed these. I am working on a solid pipe install from the filter to the CCV instead of the factory tube.
